OLYC BOAT RAMP KEY POLICY

The Board has adopted this policy to preserve our Conditional Use as follows:

1. A gate key is issued to a member / family only in good standing, upon request, for boat launching privileges.

2. A member / family must be present at the OLYC boat ramp site when the key is utilized.

3. A key shall not be loaned or given to a friend or a guest to use in any manner whatsoever.

4. No overnight mooring of powerboats, sail crafts, jetskis, etc. on the Club piers overnight, unless authorized by the current Conditional Use.

5. The launching of boats owned by Club members or during regatta events shall be from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A log shall be kept by the Club for launching of any boats during non-regatta events and said log shall include the boat registration number and the owner’s name. Any member launching shall complete a log entry.

6. The Club’s boat launch will be open at the commencement of daylight savings during the Spring and shall be closed at the completion of daylight savings in the Fall. This is to avoid damage to the site and the launch ramp, which will be removed for the winter season and stacked at the base of the launch.

7. Any member found violating these rules as determined by the Commodore based upon information and belief, shall forfeit their key immediately to the Commodore upon the Commodore’s request and without further Board discussion.

8. The offending member / family shall lose launching privileges for the remainder of the season and shall deemed to be a member not in good standing.

9. The offending member / family may be responsible for the cost of re-keying the locks and replacements of all other keys issued to members in good standing.

10. The offending member / family shall be responsible for all costs in defending OLYC before the Town or County Park and Plan Commission or the Circuit Court for any alleged Conditional Use violation for the Boat Ramp Key Policy.

11. The offender member / family shall petition to the Board to become a member in good standing for the following season.
